What is your painting process?

Using your photograph as a guide, our artists sketch by hand the  image onto a linen canvas.  And then we use the finest quality oil paints to produce the final portrait.  The photograph is only used for visual reference. 

How do I get started?

Having a portrait done is a special event.  There are few gifts that are more meaningful, whether for yourself or someone else.  You should take the time to make sure you have a high-quality photograph to start with.   We do not recommend big smiles or outlandish clothing.  You will find that bright, daylight images with a relaxed, minimal pose is ideal.  You are welcome to send us your image to discuss before ordering, we’ll be glad to help you decide on the right portrait for you.

Can I email or upload a digital photo?

We are capable of using digital images, however we do not want any print variations to result in anything other than the desired portrait.  Skin tones, colorings, etc are critical to the buyer, and your satisfaction is our highest priority.  As such, we request that you send us a high quality photograph print — size 8”x10” or larger.  This allows us the highest quality control and assures our customers of the wonderful portrait they expect.

What are some of the details of ordering?

o A 50% deposit is required before any work will begin on a portrait.

o All shipping and handling is included in the portrait price.  Not included is state sales tax, which will be added to your order. 

o Cars, pets, boats & buildings are considered subjects and charged the same as a person.

o It is recommended that you work with your local frame shop to select a frame that will complement the beauty of the finished portrait and the location in which it will be displayed.

What should I expect regarding Delivery?

A digital image of the finished portrait will be sent via email for your final approval.  Your final payment will be due at this time.  Depending on your location, we will hand-deliver or express mail your portrait to you.   We ship our portraits in a ballistic shipping tube to reduce the risk of damage to the finished product.  Delivery is normally within 90 days of order date, however this is dependent on our artist's backlog.  Upon ordering, we will provide you with an estimated completion date.
